Product Structure & Composition

The compact SFP housing integrates the optical transmitter, receiver, control circuit and host electrical interface in one hot-pluggable module. A duplex LC receptacle provides separate transmit and receive fiber connections.

Duplex LC Port: Connects the transmit and receive fibers.

Optical Transmitter: Converts the electrical signal into an 850nm or 1310nm optical signal.

Optical Receiver: Converts the incoming optical signal back into an electrical signal.

Metal Housing: Protects the internal optical and electronic components.

SFP Edge Connector: Connects the module to the host switch, router or media converter.

Pull Tab or Bail Latch: Supports convenient module installation and removal.

Benefits of  1G BASE SFP Modules

Build Gigabit Links with the Right Reach

Choose 550m, 10km or 20km transmission according to the fiber type and distance of each network connection.

This avoids paying for unnecessary reach while ensuring an appropriate optical link budget.

Simplify Network Installation and Replacement

The hot-pluggable SFP form factor allows compatible modules to be installed or replaced without redesigning the network equipment.

Duplex LC connectivity also works with widely used fiber patching systems in data centers, campuses and telecom rooms.

Use One Platform for Multimode and Single-mode Links

Network operators can use SX modules for short multimode connections and LX/LH modules for longer single-mode routes while keeping the same SFP equipment platform.

This makes inventory planning and network expansion more flexible.

Reduce Multi-Vendor Compatibility Risk

Custom firmware coding can be prepared for the specified switch, router or media-converter model.

Correct coding helps the host equipment recognize the module and simplifies deployment in mixed-brand networks.

1G BASE SFP Modules  Selection Guide

How to Install a 1GBASE SFP Transceiver

Wear an anti-static wrist strap and confirm that the SFP module matches the host equipment, fiber type and required transmission distance. Remove the dust plug, keep the bail latch closed, align the module with the SFP port and gently push it into the port until it is fully seated. Do not force the module if resistance is encountered.

Clean and inspect the duplex LC connectors before connecting the transmit and receive fibers. Insert the LC patch cord, verify that the remote transceiver uses the same Ethernet standard and compatible wavelength, and then check the equipment status, received optical power and link indicators. Keep dust caps fitted whenever the module or fiber connector is disconnected.

Frequently Asked Questions & Quick Inquiry

1G BASE SFP Modules  FAQ

What is the difference between 1000BASE-SX, LX and LH SFP modules?

1000BASE-SX uses an 850nm wavelength with multimode fiber for links up to 550m. The listed 1000BASE-LX and LH models use a 1310nm wavelength with single-mode fiber for transmission distances of up to 10km and 20km respectively.

Which fiber patch cord should I use with these 1G SFP modules?

Use a duplex LC multimode patch cord with the AE-SFP-SX model. Use a duplex LC single-mode patch cord with the AE-SFP-LX or AE-SFP-LH model. Both fiber ends must be connected with the transmit and receive paths correctly aligned.

Can the 1G SFP module be coded for my switch or router?

Yes. Custom compatibility coding is available. Please provide the equipment manufacturer, exact device model and, when possible, the operating-system or firmware version before ordering.

Can I use a 20km SFP module for a very short fiber link?

The selected module should match the actual link loss and the receiver's permitted optical-power range. A high-power long-distance module can overload the receiver on a very short link, so the optical budget should be checked and an attenuator used when required.

Why does the link remain down after the SFP modules are installed?

Check that both modules support the same data rate and Ethernet standard, the fiber type matches the module, the duplex LC transmit and receive fibers are correctly crossed, all connectors are clean, and the modules are recognized by the host equipment.

Do these 1G SFP transceivers support hot plugging?

Yes. The SFP form factor is hot-pluggable in compatible equipment. Follow the equipment manufacturer's handling instructions and use proper anti-static protection when installing or removing a module.

What information should I provide when requesting a quotation?

Please provide the required quantity, transmission distance, fiber type, connector type, equipment brand and model, operating-temperature requirement, OEM labeling requirements and delivery destination.
